About

The smooth operator who pioneered the trap-soul sound

Bryson Tiller is a Grammy-nominated R&B artist from Louisville, Kentucky, celebrated for blending moody trap production with soulful melodies and introspective songwriting.

Though he had released his first mixtape, Killer Instinct Vol. 1, as a teenager several years earlier, Tiller rose to prominence with 'Don’t' in 2015. The track would eventually achieve diamond platinum certification, and Tiller quickly became one of the defining voices of modern R&B, helping to popularise the trap-soul sound that bridges hip-hop swagger with nocturnal atmospherics and emotional vulnerability.

Following the success of his debut album T R A P S O U L, which featured fan favourites including 'Exchange' and 'Sorry Not Sorry,' Tiller earned widespread acclaim for his hazy sound, laid-back delivery and relatable lyricism. In 2017, after being named in Forbes' 30 Under 30, Tiller released his second studio album True to Self. Featuring tracks 'Run Me Dry' and 'Somethin Tells Me', the album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, while later projects such as Anniversary (2020) and his self-titled album (2024) further showcased his evolution as both a vocalist and songwriter. The rap-heavy Solace & The Vices (2025) captured this versatility in ambitious double-disk format.

Expanding beyond the atmospheric sound that first made him a breakout star, Tiller continues to experiment with richer production, sharper lyricism and more personal storytelling across each release. Alongside his solo success, collaborations with artists including Rihanna, Drake, H.E.R. and DJ Khaled have reinforced his reputation as one of the defining voices in contemporary R&B and hip hop.
