About

Mike Bubbins is a Welsh comedian, actor and broadcaster. He is the creator, co-writer and star of the hit BBC sitcom Mammoth. The first series was the biggest debut sitcom on BBC2 in five years. Series two will screen in December 2025.

Mike’s most recent stand-up show Throwback will air on BBC One Wales and iPlayer over Christmas 2025. His new stand-up show Ideasman will tour the UK in 2026/27.

Outside of Mammoth, Mike has acted in a number of comedies and dramas including Tourist Trap, Death Valley, Warren, Josh and The Unexplainers. His acclaimed BBC Wales interview show Scrum V will see a third series hit our screens in Spring 2026. He is a regular on panel and entertainment shows, appearing on the likes of Would I Lie To You, House Of Games (he won) and Celebrity Mastermind (he won).

In podcast land, Mike is one of the hosts of The Socially Distant Sports Bar. Launched in the lockdown of 2020 when there was no live sport, the podcast became a huge hit and—five years and almost 300 episodes, two sold-out tours and arena shows later—is still going strong. He also hosts Any Given Wednesday, a podcast about the NFL. Mike is the anti-hero star of the cult hit and UK Podcast Comedy Award-winning The Beef and Dairy Network, improvising the role of deranged slaughterhouse owner and religious leader Eli Roberts.

Lastly—and while he may be blowing his own trumpet—Mike’s pretty sure he’s the only comedy performer, writer and actor in the world who, as well as being an ex-professional rugby player, coach and PE teacher, has also been a finalist in the European Elvis Tribute Act Championship. Honestly.
