About
Irish One Direction star turned platinum-selling solo artist
Since launching his solo career in 2016 with the single ‘This Town’, Irish singer-songwriter Niall Horan has made a name for himself that goes way beyond his start in One Direction. ‘This Town’ peaked at No.9 on the UK Singles Chart, No.20 on the US Billboard Hot 100, and that was just the beginning.
Opting for a more folk-pop and country sound than his pure pop One Direction roots, Niall has released three studio albums; Flicker (2017), Heartbreak Weather (2020), The Show (2023). Whilst some may draw comparisons between his earlier works and Ed Sheeran, Horan has listed The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac and Laurel Canyon as inspirations for his body of work. His songwriting is both personal and poetic, drawing on his unique perspectives and real-life experience for inspiration, as seen in his 2026 single ‘Dinner Party, which is inspired by his longtime partner Mia Woolley.
All three of his full-lengths performed well on international charts, with both Heartbreak Weather and The Show debuting at the top of the UK and Irish album charts. Plus, both projects boast collaborations with an array of artists, including Julia Michaels, Lizzy McAlpine, John Legend and Teddy Geiger.
In 2023, Horan became a judge on TV talent show The Voice. On St Patrick's Day 2023, Horan visited the White House to play the song for US President Joe Biden and Irish Taoiseach Leo Varadkar. After the release of his single, 'Meltdown', in April 2023, Horan announced a return to UK stages with The Show: Live On Tour (2024), a successful tour with shows in Dublin, Belfast, Cardiff, Manchester and London.
Following the announcement of his fourth studio album, Dinner Party, Niall announced Dinner Party: Live On Tour for September – November 2026.
