About
Hailing from York, Shed Seven are one of the defining bands of the Britpop era, known for their energetic sound and anthemic hits. Since releasing their debut album 'Change Giver' in 1994—recently celebrating its 30th anniversary—the band has produced a catalogue that includes seven Top 20 singles, six Top 10 albums, and fan-favorites like "Going For Gold," "Chasing Rainbows," and "Disco Down."
2024 was a landmark year for Shed Seven, with Liquid Gold, their orchestral album, hitting the number one spot, marking their second chart-topping album of the year after A Matter of Time, which received widespread critical acclaim upon release in January. They also scored a vinyl number-one single with "Let’s Go Dancing," a testament to their continued relevance and fan support. Shed Seven’s success this year places them among a rare group of only 20 artists to achieve two number-one albums within a single year.
The band’s 2025 schedule saw them performing the biggest shows of their career, with headline dates at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl and Leeds Millennium Square as part of the Sounds Of The City series, plus a major show at Scarborough Open Air Theatre.
Shed Seven were also named the first champions of National Album Day, solidifying their legacy as one of the UK's most beloved rock bands.
