About
SOFY exists in the gaps between genres.
Taking the tension of trip-hop, the immediacy of Britpop and the edge of garage rock, she has built a sound that feels unmistakably her own. It’s witty, melodic and uncompromising.
Long before her first official release, SOFY’s demos were already earning spins on BBC Radio 1 and drawing praise from Arlo Parks, Sam Fender and Yungblud. Within a year, the Leicester-born songwriter was playing Glastonbury Festival and landing on the EA Sports FC soundtrack, marking the start of a relentless three-year run that saw her release two EPs and two full-length mixtapes, all while remaining fiercely independent.
That momentum fuelled sold-out headline shows, major festival main stages, and support slots alongside Liam Gallagher and Sabrina Carpenter. This summer, she opens for Kasabian and The Libertines ahead of the release of her debut album, How To Perform Magic, in September. It is her most experimental and vulnerable work to date.
Described by Dork as 'the voice of a generation… a much-needed messiah for the messy', SOFY stands as one of the most compelling new voices in British guitar music.
