About
Paddy Power Comedy Festival
Get ready for four side-splitting days of world-class comedy as the Paddy Power Comedy Festival returns to the lush surroundings of Iveagh Gardens in Dublin from Thursday 23 to Sunday 26 July.
Featuring an incredible mix of international stars, Irish favourites and rising comedy voices, this year’s festival promises another packed weekend of laughs in the heart of the city.
Leading the international line-up this year is the brilliant SNL UK star Larry Dean will be joined by fellow Scottish comics Marjolein Robertson, Connor Burns and festival favourite Fern Brady whose debut novel High Energy Unpleasant will be published later this year. Simon Brodkin is the comedian who showered FIFA president Sepp Blatter with cash and created the smash-hit BBC comedy series Lee Nelson’s Well Good Show, and he makes a welcome return to the festival ahead of his Vicar St show in December. Other Uk acts include Red Richardson, whose biting observations and deadpan style have earned him rave reviews all over the world and Finlay Christie who continues his rise as one of the UK’s most exciting young comics. The hilarious Scott Bennett is set for superstardom and Lithuanian star Evaldas Karosas has become a viral sensation thanks to his brilliantly awkward crowd work and dry humour.
This year’s programme also includes American star Chris Redd who brings his explosive energy and acclaimed Saturday Night Live credentials to Dublin. He will be joined fellow American comics Chris Higgins. who has built a devoted following thanks to his sharp observational humour and effortlessly relatable style, Emil Wakim who has earned international acclaim for his stand-out Weekend Update appearances during SNL’s milestone 50th season & rising star Yvette Segan (her sarcastic, dark comedy and incessant posting have amassed her a following of over 500k across platforms).
And of course, some of Ireland’s biggest and best comedy stars will be taking to the stages across the weekend. Festival favourites Foil Arms & Hog return with their hugely popular blend of sketches, physical comedy and viral brilliance, while the unstoppable Jason Byrne brings his trademark chaos and audience interaction back to Iveagh Gardens once again. Dylan Moran returns with his poetic storytelling style along with comedy powerhouses Emma Doran, Enya Martin, Aoife Dunne, Shane Daniel Byrne, Neil Delamere, Karl Spain, Mike Rice, Gearóid Farrelly, Kevin McGahern, Alison Spittle and Chris Kent who returns following his incredible sell out show at Live At the Marquee, Cork last summer. Also appearing are social media sensations Rachel Galvo, Tony Cantwell, Killian Sundermann, Ryan Carrick, Ross McCarney and Serena Terry. And we have many of the most exciting rising comedy stars in the country including Catherine Bohart, Katie Boyle, Diona Doherty, Taran O’Sullivan, Roger O’Sullivan, Fiona Frawley, John Spillane, Sinead Walsh, Darren Gaffney, Breda Hegarty, Robbie Wilde, Aideen McQueen, Marty Gleeson, Meg Reilly, Sophia Wren and many more.
